A Novel Energy Balance Control Method for a Modular Multilevel Converter in a High-Speed PMSM Drive Application

Nowadays, high-speed permanent magnet synchronous machines (HSPMSMs) are widely used in direct-drive applications. Moreover, modular multilevel converters (MMCs) have attracted a lot of attention. In this paper, the mathematical model MMC for HSPMSM was built on high- and low-speed regions, respectively, control each is completely decoupled. energy balance schemes based common mode current injection with drive applications been proposed cases, respectively. Based model, controller Simulation experiment results indicate that method an PMSM application exhibits significant performance, which can ensure eliminate circulating directly.
